Spring...life...

running thoughts, no sense, just expression...

visitors in and out, coffee, fika with leftovers from work, garden beds dug, fires on rainy days, nettle soup of nettles that I just found around the rock opposite the trees where the pastures for cows begin and where in about a month I will be harvesting wild strawberries...Spring...Easter is over, so is April, I have had my first swim. Canoeing and drinking wine in the late evening sun, yoga in the early morning, picking up gifts that life lays on my path and enjoying them!

My life is unfolding and making decisions: I am going to stay in Sweden longer than one Summer. I will take on some interesting tasks in project here, I will learn about this landscape, the local culture I accounter while meeting more and more interesting people...

The Prince of Fishes - or the story of to be and not to have.

So the story goes that once upon a time in a land not so far away there was an old man and his wife who lived in a small hut by the ocean. On a day like any other day the old man took his rod to go fishing. As luck had it, on that day, the old man caught the Prince of Fishes (of course it was a majestic haddock).

The Prince of Fishes said to the old man when he reeled him in, "please, let me go, for I have a kingdom to rule and if you let me go I will grant you every wish you desire."

So the old man returned to his wife and told her what had happened. The wife said "Oh, to have a cottage rather than a small hut..." The old man returned to the ocean and called to the Prince of Fishes and told him of his wife's request.

And the Prince of Fishes said "It is done".

When the old man returned home there stood a lovely cottage. But the next day, the old man's wife said "Oh, but to have a castle!" The old man returned and gave his wish to the Prince of Fishes and the Prince of Fished said again "It is done".

The old man returned home and there stood a magnificent castle. But after some time the old wife was not satisfied. "Oh husband, " she said, "to have a kingdom!". So the old man returned again and as before the Prince of Fishesd said "It is done".

But the old woman, as it was her nature, still wished for more. She said to her husband "Oh, to be like GOD!". The husband returned to the sea and the King of Fishes said "It is done as you have wished". When the old man returned home, he saw with joy that there once again stood his small hut. He went to sit next to his wife on small blue bench in front of their hut and there they lived happily to the end of their days.
